27 April 2017

A trench coat is a staple in every wardrobe but ever wonder how you should style it? Im going to talk you through the different ways to style a trench coat.

Surprisingly you can style a beige trench coat goes with just about everything, its no longer just a waterproof jacket it can be a versatile, sophisticated jacket for any occasion! You can wear them with the likes of jeans and tops, dresses, skirts anything and it will make your outfit look pulled together. These are perfect for work too as there bound to spruce up any boring work outfits you may have, black pants and crisp white shirt would look perfect!

What I also love is these two trench coats you can see below, both the pastel blue and pastel pink colours are so cute and make a difference from the ordinary trench coat. Not only are these super cute colours but they would be perfect for spring, this short style light weight jacket is waterproof, essential for living in the uk and again perfect for spring. These teamed with block colours such as white will look fab and make a statement with any outfit!

Mac Lipstick Collection: The Nudes

20 April 2017

I love Mac, If you follow me on Instagram you will definitely already know this because I'm forever posting  photos of my products, so I thought it was only right that I shared my Mac lipstick collection.

Velvet Teddy
This is one of Mac's most popular shades made famous by Kylie Jenner, I love this shade but it seems to come up darker on me than most other people, this must be because of my skin tone but as you can see this looks like a dark nude shade. I love Mac's matte formula, so much so Mac matte lipsticks are actually my all time favourite and its actually rare now that I reach for anything else, they are so creamy and pigmented and last all day, apart from when you eat I do sometimes have to re apply but I don't mind that.

Whirl
This is one I love but don't reach for as often, I use this along side my whirl lip liner to create the perfect look, this is quite a dark almost dark red colour so I think its perfect for winter and don't reach for it that much during the summer months.

Honey love
Now I could literally go on forever and ever about this lipstick, this is my all time favourite lipstick, its the perfect everyday nude and I literally wear it on a daily basis, I always have it in my bag. This would suit just about anyone, I also wear the strip down lip liner with this and its the perfect match its the combo I just cant live without! I had to rebuy this last month too which shows you how much I love this haha!

Midi Mauve
This is a browny nude that again I love, this is the lustre finish which I have to admit isn't my favourite finish as I love a matte finish, so this shade looks glossier on the lips than any of the other shades. The one thing I love about this formula is the finish, they are really moistening and don't make your lips feel dry what so ever.

Taupe
I bought this because id seen it on so many people and loved although I do feel like it is quite similar to whirl but a bit brighter rather than darker like whirl. Again this one i tend to go for more during the autumn seasons with it being darker but its a staple in my collection that I definitely will rebuy!

Brave
This is the more pink lipstick of them all, I have super pale skin and this really suits my skin tone and makes the perfect shade for summer. This is a satin finish, they have the same lasting power as the matte finish and if not a big longer which is great!

What is your favourite Mac lipstick?

Working With Brands: My Experience

9 April 2017
working with brands on your blog

I have never done any sort of advice posts or general chit chat about blogging before but I have been blogging for three and a half years now so I thought I might share a little insight into my experience of working with brands, from how to work with brands and what its really like from my perspective.

When Should I Start Working With Brands?
You might of not long started your blog or you may have been blogging for a while, regardless your wondering how to you get to work with brands for your blog. First of all, it doesn't happen overnight! You cant start a blog and expect to be working with brands the next day, you need to put time and hard work into your blog. Get people reading it, share it on social media, make it look professional otherwise brands won't get any benefit in working with you.

How Do I Work With Brands?
There is a few ways of doing this, firstly there are simple searches you can do 'bloggers wanted', 'bloggers required' and 'prrequest' on twitter which brands use daily as and outreach when looking for bloggers, they always instruct you to either email or tweet them back.

Outreach Programs- these are great, they basically are a platform where you create a account and numerous brands post when they are looking for bloggers for certain campaigns. One of the most popular would be Bloggers Required you should take a look at them if you don't already use them.

Apps- Simply there are apps such as Tribe that allow you connect with brands and get paid on your Instagram for posting content specific posts meeting the brands standards. Finally Buzzole is a online website that you simply sign up to and they contact you if there are campaigns that are suitable for you to work on.

Approaching brands yourself-
this is sometimes a controversial topic some agree with it some don't, but I don't see the harm. If you've established yourself quite well on your blog and social media then there is no harm in emailing a brand if your think its suitable to your blog. Make sure your professional and friendly and try to find the correct email.

Pr Agencies- Again this requires emailing them to see if they are looking to promote a particular brand or range from the brand that may fit in with your blog or they may reach out and contact you, these are one of the key players in this industry there job is interact with people like yourself so having a healthy relationship with pr agencies or practitioners can lead to some great collaborations!

My Experience
I have used all of the above methods to contact brands and all have worked for me and I have managed to work with some great brands in the past. Personally the outreach programs are my favourite as you don't have to email first and feel that feeling 'should I email', 'am I good enough?' but then I have worked with some of the best brands from me putting myself out there and emailing them. Once you start working with brands, more brands with contact you and honestly that is a great feeling. Also don't forget we all get knocked back from time to time so if you get knocked back by a brand don't take it too personally you may just not be suitable for them or meet the requirements to be able to work with them, don't forget your probably on the the hundreds of bloggers who email every year.

I hope these few tips help you!

This eye masks are meant realieve and relax tired eyes in just ten minutes using microsteam technology. I was so excited to try these as I always have eyes that feel so sore so I couldn't wait to see what these turn out like. They are perfect for traveling, bedtime or just to relax. These work by simply warming up as soon as you open the packet and the steam that gets released is what helps to soothe your eyes.

How to use:
  1. Tear open the sachet when ready to use
  2. unfold the eye mask and put the straps over your ear
  3. Place the white side of the mask over your eyes
  4. wait for 3-5 for mask to reach highest temperature
  5. wear for another 10-15 minutes
The verdict
I can honestly say after using this mask before I went to bed and it left my eyes feeling so fresh ad relaxed and it put me in the perfect mood to go to sleep I would definitely recommend these to anyone who struggles to sleep as it really puts you in a relaxing mood.  Once on the eyes for about 5 minutes the genuinely start to warm up your eyes and it makes them feel very soothed and does so for the reaming time. There priced at £9.99 for 8 so its not something I would use on a daily basis but once or twice a week would be perfect. They do come scented and unscented I got the unscented ones which work perfectly on my sensitive skin and I think is more relaxing on the eyes.

You can find these here at boots.

Crabtree & Evelyn- Mothers Day!

23 March 2017

I was very lucky to recieve some goodies from the lovely Crabtree & Evelyn, I thought I would create this post with mothers day in mind as these would make perfect gifts for the occasion. Crabtree & Evelyn have a range of products from perfume, soaps, biscuits and much more so they are a great place to get your mothers day gifts from.

Black Sea Mud Seaweed Soap
This soap contains all purifying and conditioning properties all design to restore your skin, the scent of this soap is very pleasant it smells like your by the sea as soon as you open it which personally I love the smell of the sea and the memories that brings. Although it is fragranced it doesn't feel too harsh on your skin it feels very smooth and silky and leaves your skin feeling amazing! Also can we just talk about the packaging for a minute, I absolutely love the black and white patterned design it makes a refreshing changed from the usual boring packaging.

This is priced at £7 which I think is very reasonable and would make the perfect gift, you can find it here.

Rosewater Hand Therapy 100g
This hand cream is a luxurious cream with a rosewater scent, containing numerous oils to ensure that your hands stay moisturised and hydrated whilst also ensuring your hands do not loose any moister. The scent of this again isn't too overpowering it is quite a subtle but still very pleasant scent were you can still smell the hint of rose coming through. This particular scent won a beauty award in 2015 so it is very well loved! This hand cream is also available in different scents.

This is priced at £16 for the 100g and there are other sizes available here.

Caribbean Island Wild Flowers Eau de Toilette
This Eau de Toilette claims to be a fruity yet floral fragrance, with the spider lily being at the centre of this fragrance blended with wild flowers, tropical citruses and blooming jasmine. Personally I get more of a floral than fruity tone from the scent, I love how fresh this scent is I think it would be perfect for summer time. It does wear off by the end of the day but I do tend to find that with most perfumes and Eau de Toilette's.

This is available for £39 a bit pricey in my opinion considering the competition of high-end perfume being a similar price! This is available here.

Hope you enjoyed this post and it gave you some ideas for mothers day as its fast approaching so don't forget! Have a lovely week!

Luxury Home Accessories

13 March 2017

I was recently sent over some beautiful home accessories to review and its safe to say I am delighted with them, so I hope you enjoy this post and it gives you some inspiration for your home.

Nkuku Sawaya Glass Vase
First of all how beautiful is this vase, it has a rustic antique feel to it with the imperfect but gorgeous look. I think this piece is fabulous, it would spruce up any area of your home with its silver almost crackled effect. Personally I am using it as a vase with these pretty peonies as there my all time favourites but this could also be used a storage pot too, it would make a perfect statement without any flowers. I think this is very reasonably priced at £18.95 and could easily be mistaken for a lot more value, if you're interested in this can take a look here.

Nkuku Antique Designer Photo Frame
This is a antique style photo frame, I love these style photo frames because you can literally just put anything you want in them from something so simple as a feather to numerous items creating a collage style photo or you can simply just put one photo in it, I tried out the collage style for this photo and I really do like the idea of putting keepsakes inside the frame. This is the 4x6 size but these are available in three different sizes and would look quite cute with more than one next to each other.  This size is £14.95, this one being the cheapest and the price ranging up to £22.95 for the other sizes. You can find these here.

I hope you liked the products I picked! Both are available online from Rooi a online store selling luxury living products so be sure to check them out for other gorgeous pieces.

You can find them here online.

Swiss Clinc Review

4 March 2017

This is a skin renewal treatment is made by Swiss Clinic, that aims to get rid of fine lines, the appearance of pores and produce collagen. This treatment comes with two products, the serum and the skin roller that are both to be used together, the serum is applied and then the skin roller is then used to roll over your skin and do its magic which I will get into later on.

Firstly before purchasing you have to decide which size skin roller you want, the size refers to the needle(not an actual full blown needle) in the roller. There is 0.2mm and 0.5mm, the 0.2mm is best for getting rid of spots, acne scars, eczema and preventing wrinkles whereas the 0.5mm is great for preventing ageing.

The skin roller makes small micro channels into the skin to trigger a healing processes and increase collagen using the serum applied.  It claims to "Stimulate and renew the skin - from within and without. It reduces fine lines, wrinkles and scars, softens the skin, stimulates blood circulation, improves elasticity and reduces enlarged pores. This effective treatment also leaves your skin with a more even tone, makes it more resilient, and preserves its vitality and energy by slowing the skin’s ageing process." .

The Verdict
Firstly the after applying the serum I used the roller and I absolutely love it you just feel the little pins in your skin and I don't know why but it feels so satisfying rolling it on your face. Straight away it leaves your face feeling super soft, one thing I hoped this would do is make my pores look a little smaller as some on my cheeks are starting to be noticeably big and I was really surprised at how quickly it did this! I honestly feel like this helps brighten up your face and give you glow in your skin which for me is a big bonus with having dull skin.

You can find Swiss Clinic here and it is currently on offer for £84 with free shipping so get your hands on this bargain.
